PARKS MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to provide and promote community leisure as well as recreational and cultural activities for all citizens.  This is accomplished through joint efforts of staff and community volunteers who work together in organizing recreational programs and activities.  Through this combined effort, we strive to enhance personal well being and to improve the quality of life that makes Zillah a great place to live, work, and play.

PARKS AND REC. PROGRAM

To Register for the Spring Program 2016 Season

March 28th Registration:
Registration Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Civic Center. You can register at Zillah City Hall at any time.

April 4th Coaches only Concussion Training:
Coaches only complete Concussion Training on line: http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/Training/index.html and bring your certificate to the meeting Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Civic Center. Concussion Training.

April 4th Coaches meetingPlayers assigned to coaches (coaches will contact players) and team list will be posted during the first day of practice.

April 11th - 15th Team Practice 6pm-7pm Monday and Wednesday for Coach Pitch and Softball.  Team Practice 6pm-7pm Tuesday and Thursday for T-ball for Tots and T-ball @ Stewart Park.

April 18th  –  May 26th: League games or practices.  
Games or practices will be on Mondays and Wednesday 6pm-7pm for Coach Pitch and Softball.  Games or practices will be played Tuesday and Thursday 6pm-7pm T-ball for Tots and T-ball @ Stewart Park.   

Registration Note: 
Please complete the registration form(s) and bring to Registration.  Anyone wishing to register at other times may do so at Zillah City Hall.  Registration will be closed on April 14th no latecomers allowed.

Age Requirements:

Tee Ball for Tots: (co-ed) Boys and Girls ages 3 and under.

Tee Ball: (co-ed) Boys and Girls ages 4 & 5 years of age.
Example: Tee Ball — Any child is eligible that has reached his/her 4th birthday prior to October 1st, but will not have reached his/her 6th birthday by October 1st.

Coach/Pitch Baseball:  (co-ed) Boys and Girls ages 6-9 years of age.

Softball: Children ages 9-10 years of age.

Player Assignments:
The Parks & Recreation Department will assign players to teams.  Assignments will be made per random draw per age group. 

Volunteer Coach Selection:
Volunteer coaches will be selected during registration. 

ALL OTHER SPECIAL PLAY RULES
This league will play at Stewart Park (next to Zillah Civic Center).
Soft Tee balls will be used.
This league will adhere to "fair play and good sportsmanship”.
Teams Shirts (provided by league)
There will be no officials assigned to the games.
Scores/standings will not be kept.
Coaches are allowed on the field during play.

To Register for the Fall Program 2016 Season

August 29th Registration:
Registration Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Civic Center. You can register at Zillah City Hall at any time.

September 7th Coaches only Concussion Online Training Need done:
Coaches complete the following training by September 7th at:   http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/Training/index.html print off the certificate of completion and submit it to the Parks and Recreation Director.  Meeting at Civic Center for Coach’s only at 6:00 pm on September 7th Players assigned to coaches (coaches will contact players) and team list will be posted during the first day of practice.

September 12th – October 29th: Practices will be on weeknights designated by coaches.  ALL games will be on Saturdays.

Soccer Ball for Tots: (co-ed) Boys and Girls ages 3 - 5.

Soccer Ball 1st thru 3rd Grade: (co-ed) Boys and Girls ages 5 – 8 years of age, 1st -3rd Grade.

Soccer Ball 4th – 5th Grade: (co-ed) Boys and Girls ages 9 – 11 years of age, 4th – 5th Grade.

This league will play on Saturday’s at multiple parks in Zillah This league will adhere to "fair play and good sportsmanship”.  Teams Shirts (provided by league), There will be no officials assigned to the games.  Scores/standings will not be kept.  Coaches are allowed on the field during play.

ALL players need to provide their own Shin guards. Shin guards are mandatory during practice and games. The shin guards should efficiently protect the player’s shins and fit securely in their soccer socks.

Cleats are not required.
