The City of Zillah will continue to provide essential services to citizens that include water, sewer, and garbage. Police and Fire services remain available. Effective immediately, City Hall, Police Department, Fire Department, Public Works Department building and offices will be closed to the public but staff will continue to report to work to perform their duties.

Planning/BuildingDevelopment applications and building permit applications can be mailed to PO Box 475, Zillah, WA 98953. Applications will be reviewed in a timely manner. Payment information will be provided for you to send in a check or money order or you can pay at the drive-through window at city hall. Plans and applications can be left in the dropbox or taken to the drive-through window at city hall. Building inspections will continue, however, we will request to have limited face-to-face interactions. IT WILL POSSIBLY BE IN OPERATION DURING 2021 DEPENDING ON THE STATUS OF COVID-19. ALL PUBLIC RESTROOMS EXCEPT THE TEAPOT RESTROOM THROUGHOUT THE CITY HAVE BEEN CLOSED. NO SPECIAL EVENTS ARE CURRENTLY ALLOWED IN CITY PARKS OR FACILITIES DURING THE DURATION OF THIS EMERGENCY.
This information is intended to provide information about the City of Zillah and services provided by other sources. City Hall office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. For your convenience, there is a night drop box that you can use to deposit utility payments after hours. Please do not leave cash payments in dropbox. UTILITY INFORMATION FOR ZILLAHWater meters are read around the 15th of each month. Utility bills are mailed during the last week of the month. Current monthly utility charges are:
WATER: $16.44 for usage of up to 300 cu. ft., SEWER: $23.18 base plus $1.92 per 100 cu. ft. for residential, GARBAGE: $15.27, WATER IMPROVEMENT: $9.00, SEWER IMPROVEMENT: $7.00, SEWER PUMP FEE: $16.48 (The Sewer Pump fee is only in the Zillah Lakes Development)
UTILITY TAX: 26.3%c of Water and 32% of Sewer and Garbage
The sewer charge is based on water usage. Commercial customers pay a base rate plus an additional amount based on water usage. You will be delivered a 64-gallon container within five (5) working days of moving into your residence. Extra garbage cans can be added for an additional charge per can per month. Extra garbage is billed at $3.02 per item over the 64-gallon minimum. Garbage pickup can be early in the morning so we recommend that the cans be placed out the night before pick-up. Certain sections of town have Thursday pick-up while others are scheduled for Monday. Contact City Hall to find out which day your address is scheduled. A 96 Gallon Yard Waste Containers are available for a one time $22.60 tote delivery fee and then $9.60 per month. If you are a low-income senior over the age of 65 or low-income disabled, you may qualify for a 25% discount on the utility tax. Garbage pick-up will be delayed one day on the following Holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.

During nice weather, Yard Sales are a popular event. You can purchase a Yard Sale Permit at City Hall for $5.00. You may purchase up to three permits per lot per year.
RECYCLE/DONATION BINSThe Recycle/donation bins are located on the empty lot behind the Cherry Patch on Cheyne Road. If you use the bins, please remember to put all applicable items inside the bins. Don’t leave boxes, bags, or any items on the ground or outside of the bins. If one of the bins is full, there are also bins located at the Zillah Middle School. Thank you for your cooperation.
