Fire
Since the 1880’s, volunteer and professional firefighters have been protecting the lives and property of the citizens of Yakima County. Within that time, twelve firefighters have been called upon to give the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Around 2003, the Zillah High School FFA Chapter and the Zillah Volunteer Firefighters Association organized the Zillah Fallen Firefighter Memorial Association to create a lasting tribute to honor those fallen heroes. The project was funded through private donations. The memorial will be located at the Teapot Dome Memorial Park on First Avenue in Zillah.
